 After a long time, Hindi cinema has received a romantic comedy that isn't entirely perfect, but it certainly entertains. De De Pyaar De 2 is a light-hearted family comedy, while also satirizing relationships, age differences, and the limitations of modernity. The film falters at times, but manages to keep the audience engaged.


The film picks up where the first part left off. Ayesha (Rakul Preet Singh) wants to introduce her family to Ashish (Ajay Devgn). When the family, which claims to be modern and open-minded, discovers their daughter's boyfriend's age, they resort to various tactics, leading to the real drama.


The first part is very fun, light-hearted, and constantly filled with laughter. The changed attitude of Ayesha's parents, the entry of Meezaan, and the conflict between Ajay and Madhavan give the film its momentum.


The story slows down a bit in the second half. Many scenes drag on unnecessarily, making the drama feel heavy. However, the twist in the last 20-30 minutes recaptures the audience's interest, and the film returns to its entertaining gear.


Ajay Devgn impresses with his calm, effortless comedy and emotional moments. R. Madhavan proves to be the film's strongest performer, delivering both anger, comedy, and sensitivity with remarkable ease.


Rakul Preet Singh is excellent in light-hearted scenes, but the emotional scenes sometimes seem a bit loud.


Javed Jaffrey consistently delivers laughs with his comic timing and one-liners. Meezaan's acting in the film is a surprise. His energy, screen presence, and dancing impress in all three.


Gautam Kapoor and Ishita Dutta inject simplicity and warmth into their characters.


Anshul Sharma has tried to keep the film's tone light, colorful, and fast-paced. The first half is strong and gripping. The second half drags at times. Some emotional scenes are effective, while others feel artificial. There are good satires on the family's progressive, yet conservative, mindset.


"Teen Shauk" and "Jhoom Barabar" are already popular and make a good impact on screen, but the film lacks any memorable romantic songs like the first installment.


If you're looking for a family comedy, light drama, a story of conflicted relationships, and a fun confrontation between Ajay and Madhavan, this film is a good weekend option. The film has its flaws, but it still provides plenty of entertainment.
