WANTED MOVIE REVIEW

 

Wanted is an Indian Hindi film directed by Prabhu Deva and produced by Boney Kapoor. The film stars Salman Khan, Ayesha Takia, Prakash Raj, Vinod Khanna, and Mahesh Manjrekar. Salman Khan plays an IPS officer in the film. The film is a remake of the Telugu film Pokkiri, which in turn is a remake of the Tamil film Deva.

Story

The film begins with Radhe (Salman Khan), a street thug who intimidates, threatens, and kills people for money. Meanwhile, he meets Janvi (Ayesha Takia). At first, Radhe appears to her as a promiscuous woman.

One night, Inspector Talpade (Mahesh Manjrekar) stops Janvi on the road. Radhe, who is also present, distracts the inspector and signals Janvi to leave. The two meet several times afterward. Janvi falls in love with him and urges him to give up his gangsterism and become a good person, but he refuses. Inspector Talpade somehow finds out Janvi's address. He goes to her mother, Lakshmi (Prateeksha Lonkar), and threatens to rape her if she doesn't marry him. He learns from Janvi's landlord that Janvi has a boyfriend. He approaches Radhe and attempts to frame him in a false case by placing drugs in his pocket, but Radhe foils his plan by removing the drugs from his pocket and showing them to him.

Gani Bhai (Prakash Raj), an international don, operates his gang from outside India. Golden Bhai (Aseem Merchant) is the leader of his gang based in Mumbai. In addition to his gang, another gang in Mumbai is led by Datta Pawle (Raju Mavani). They are two of Mumbai's largest gangs. Due to the rivalry between these two gangs, Mumbai continues to see a significant crime rate. To curb this, Police Commissioner Ashraf Taufiq Khan (Govind Namdev) decides to completely eradicate crime. Meanwhile, when Ghani Bhai arrives in India, Ashraf captures him and holds him captive in a large boat, interrogating him.

His gang learns of Ghani Bhai's arrest and goes to the police station. There, they discover that Ghani Bhai has not been arrested. Later, they somehow learn that Ashraf has kept Ghani Bhai imprisoned in an undisclosed location. They kidnap his daughter, make an obscene video of her, and blackmail him, threatening to spread the video throughout the city if he doesn't release Ghani Bhai. For the sake of his daughter, he releases Ghani Bhai. Gani Bhai returns after being released, and Ashraf's daughter, in a drunken state, tells him that a police officer is about to infiltrate his gang and kill him.

Gani Bhai asks Inspector Talpade to gather information about a man named Rajveer Shekhawat, but he too finds no information about him. According to police records, he is the son of Shrikant Shekhawat (Vinod Khanna). To capture Rajveer, he arrives at Shrikant's training center and asks Shrikant about his son. Gani Bhai, believing Ajay (Inder Kumar) to be Rajveer Shekhawat, kills him. Shrikant reveals that Ajay was his adopted son. Gani Bhai kills Shrikant as well and hides, waiting for Rajveer to return.

Hearing the news of his father's death, Radhe, who is actually Rajveer Shekhawat, runs to his father. Gani Bhai and Inspector Talpade are terrified when they discover Radhe's true identity. Rajveer decides to avenge the deaths of his father and brother and asks Talpade to take him to Gani Bhai's hideout. A frightened Talpade manages to find Gani Bhai's location over the phone and takes Rajveer to him. Radhe, also known as Rajveer, begins killing the goons one by one and rescues the Commissioner's daughter. Finally, he kills Gani Bhai and calls to say that Inspector Talpade was also killed in the encounter. He then shoots Talpade, ending the story.
